B&C Morning Show: Nice Career; Here’s Some Dirt

It’s no secret the Mariano Rivera farewell tour already has Craig rolling his eyes.

In his first road game of the season, the Detroit Tigers gave the future Hall of Famer some dirt. Most people wouldn’t consider dirt a gift, but baseball players like that sort of thing.  Whether you think it’s a good gift or not is irrelevant to this discussion. The real question is whether or not this kind of thing should be going on. Craig says, no. He hates the idea of opposing teams doing this!

Hates it!

Boomer is famous, and when your famous you often times receive a ton of gifts. Well over the weekend the Blonde Bomber was throwing away a few goodies he’s accumulated over the years. Craig was not happy, because he wanted some of the items. To be fair, another man’s junk could be another man’s treasure… package. That’s why the staff suggested Boomer open up an eBay store. He could call it “Boomer’s Crap.”

B&C Morning Show: What Is Tussy?

Have you have checked out the Carmelo Anthony degree deodorant commercial? It sparked quite the debate this morning between Craig and the Booms.

Boomer is convinced the spot shows Melo training to box, but Craig insists that is not the case.

Guys sweat, it’s what we do. Boomer is a man’s man. That’s why he uses Dove. He’s a Dove guy, no questions asked. So what about Al Dukes? Well, Al is a spray man. He likes the way it penetrates the pits… hi-ya! Speaking of Mr. Dukes, the morning show producer took his lady friend Christine to a Nets game on Saturday.

Now of course Al has no idea what is going on in Brooklyn this season, but his friend Christine is all over it. Not only is she a hot box of rocks, but she is very knowledgeable when it comes to sports. The two chatted on the subway on the way to the Barclays. Well actually, Christine chatted and Al asked her questions about the Nets… nailed it.

What about this Tussy deodorant? Where can you get it? Where do you put it? What is it?!?!?! Find out.

B&C Morning Show: Don’t Blame The Scheduling, Yankees Fans

Eddie Scozzare is the winner of the B&C bracket challenge, even though he had no idea he had won. Probably was too busy worrying about what parking spot he will get tomorrow morning.

A caller called up this morning and mentioned the Yankees’ early season schedule. Craig cut it off right away. He does not want to hear about bad scheduling for the Bombers. No excuses! These are grown men! Thirty-year-old professional athletes should not be tired a few games into a 162-game season.

So how far is it from Detroit to Minnesota? Craig says you can walk. Al has no idea where either place is. You can definitely walk to Canada from the Motor City. While you’re there visit the Cheetah Club, that’s Eddie Scozzare’s favorite spot.

B&C Morning Show: Reacting To Darrelle Revis Trade

A day that we all saw coming for months has finally arrived.

The best corner in the NFL is no longer a member of the New York Jets. On Sunday, Gang Green sent their often disgruntled DB to the Tampa Bucs for a 1st and what could amount to be a 3rd round pick.

Even though most of Jet Nation is up in arms over the trade, both Boomer and Craig have no issues with the move. “It’s not the best day ever,” Craig said. However, the Jets were not going to pay Revis $16 million. So you were going to have a very unhappy player on your roster that was going to leave at the end of the season anyway.

Craig and Boomer are both happy with the work John Idzik has done so far. Bottom line is both B&C believe the Jets did a good job securing two draft picks, including a first, for a guy who has had issues with the team & is coming off an ACL injury.

B&C Morning Show: Jerry Updates Us On Revis, Yanks, Mets And Rangers

Jerry has all the reaction from Rex Ryan, John Idzik and Woody Johnson regarding the Revis trade. Idzik admits the team had some fears about Darrelle’s knee, Rex says his defense will still be one of the tops in the league and the owner promises the fans the team will not tank in 2013.

The Yanks blew a lead yesterday, but they still took two out of three against the Blue Jays in Canada. Back in the states, the New York Mets took the rubber game against the Nats, thanks in large part to a big Jason Werth double play in the eighth inning.

The Devils season is now over after the Blueshirts beat them yesterday. Needless to say there is no sweeter feeling for Mr. Boomer Esiason.

B&C Morning Show: Who Did We Play Last Night?

Co-workers should always be there to lend a helping hand. And that’s exactly what Suzyn Waldman did on the Yankees radio broadcast this past weekend.

Her partner, John Sterling, was blanking on who the Yankees played the night before the Blue Jays series. Suzyn was quick to point out that it was indeed Arizona.

John blanked… it happens. My mistake, I apologize. Good job by Suzyn picking John up, though.

B&C Morning Show: A Touching Day At Fenway

It was an absolutely awful and tragic week for the entire city of Boston. Sports, as we saw here in NY after 9/11, can really lift everyone’s spirits during troubling times.

When the Red Sox returned to the field this weekend, their star and most recognizable player, David Ortiz, addressed the crowd. Big Papi was very candid and spoke from the heart. That’s exactly why the FCC did not levy a fine when the big DH dropped some language not suitable for TV.

Then there was the moment with Neil Diamond. Neil’s mega-hit “Sweet Caroline” has been played at Red Sox home games for years. Mr. Diamond, totally unannounced, performed the song live. Apparently the team didn’t even know he would be there. We obviously send our thoughts and prayers to Boston as they continue to mourn and recover.

B&C Morning Show: Craig Loves Suzyn, Carton’s Fans, Boomer Sings

This segment really embodies what the Boomer and Carton show is all about. First, Craig reads an email about an angry listener. Needless to say this man did not have too many nice things to say about Mr. Carton.

As part of a ticket giveaway, Boomer sings some sweet tunes from the legendary Paul McCartney. To be honest, not much of a difference between Booms’ voice and Sir Paul’s… kidding of course.

Kenny in the Bronx, a frequent caller, believes Craig is waaaaaaay too hard on John and Suzyn. Anybody who listens to this show knows nobody is a bigger fan of the Yankees radio duo than Craig Carton. He especially loves when Sterling throws it to the on-field interview after the game.

B&C Morning Show: Tommy, Can You Hear Me?

When Craig noticed that Tommy, the morning show breakfast coordinator/tape editor, was having a bad day, he decided to bring him on the air to see if talking about what is bothering him might help.

As it turns out, I don’t think Tommy (pictured) felt much better afterwards, but the segment conjured up some laughter. And when it’s all said and done, isn’t that really what it’s all about?

B&C Morning Show: Knicks Take One On The Chin

The Knick’s brutal effort in Game 1 against the Pacers made it real hard for B&C to bask in the glory of the team winning their first playoff series in 13 years. Craig is not blaming the officials for the loss, but used the word embarrassing to describe their performance. Both Craig and Booms agree most of the criticism falls squarely on the shoulders of Melo & Smith.

The Pacers want to implement a very physical, rough and tough style of play. Well, that brand of basketball was on full display yesterday at the Garden.  Mike Woodson’s squad got punched in the mouth and could not respond. B&C are not panicking but they do know it’s time for Melo and the stars of the Knicks to step up. That’s also something he wishes his beloved Rangers would do, as the Blueshirts try to climb back into the series with the Caps tonight.

B&C Morning Show: A Bad Day In NY Sports

Jerry had all the Knicks reaction from their disappointing effort against the Pacers. Both Mike Woodson and Carmelo Anthony agreed that Indiana brought more intensity and effort. Kenyon Martin on the other hand said that Game 1 is the easiest for a road team to win… whatever that means.

Saturday night marked the end of the Nets season as they fell to the Bulls in Game 7. Brook Lopez said he needed to be a bigger force on the defensive end. Unfortunately, this loss meant the end for P.J. Carleismo’s tenure as HC of the Nets.

From the baseball diamond, the Yanks, and more specifically Andy Pettitte got roughed up by the A’s. Down in Atlanta, the Mets finished their road trip with a losing record after falling to the Braves 9-4.

The Islanders battled back in Game 3 but Sidney Crosby and the Pens proved to be too much. The Penguins defeated the Islanders in OT in a game that was not without spotty officiating.

B&C Morning Show: Melo The Legendary Player

It’s no secret Craig is a big-time supporter of Carmelo Anthony.

Boomer acknowledges Melo’s talents, but has been more critical of the NBA’s leading scorer than his partner. The guys spent most of the morning talking about the Knick’s poor performance against the Pacers in Game 1. And for the most part it was pretty civil.  That was until Craig called Carmelo a “legendary” player and a top-15 Knick.

Those comments really set the Booms off and sparked quite a debate. Even Jerry got in the mix. Suddenly it became a 2-on-1 situation, which prompted Craig to take some low blow shots at the Rangers. This eventually led to Eddie Scozzare dropping some unauthorized audio.

B&C Morning Show: Iron Man … Kentucky Derby … True Story?

Over the weekend Craig took his kids to see Iron Man in 3-D. True Story? Another true story was Michelle Beadle throwing her hat in the ring at the Derby. What would it sound like if Suzyn Waldman called the Run for the Roses?

Boomer has a long day of golf ahead of him, so Craig thought it would be thoughtful to get his main man some butt cream. Of course in typical Carton fashion he tried the product the night before. Oh by the way, it’s a roll-on.

B&C Morning Show: The Good, The Bad And The A-Rod

B&C kicked off a special Monday program by breaking down the weekend that was for the baseball locals. The Mets got a solid pitching performance from Dillon Gee in their win over the Pirates. However, it was not all sunshine and rainbows from Metland. Jordany Valdespin, who has had his moments this year, both good and bad, was sent down to Triple-A Vegas, and in typical Valdy fashion, he did not go quietly and had some choice words for manager Terry Collins.

In the Bronx, the Yankees lost the weekend series to the Twins. The hometown faithful even went as far as to boo a team that is seven games over .500. CC Sabathia struggled mightily, giving up eight runs in the loss. Both Craig and Boomer say it’s not fair that this team gets booed because they have overachieved with a hodgepodge lineup.

What would a weekend be without some Alex Rodriguez news? A-Rod met with MLB for hours on Friday and claimed that he is not aware of a possible plea bargain. Boomer still thinks A-Rod will never wear a Yankee uniform again.

All of that, plus Craig gets booed at Citi Field for wearing a Yankee hat despite being a “big” Met fan.

B&C Morning Show: Jerry’s First Update

We all know that John and Suzyn do not take Yankee losses very well. Well, there was plenty of moaning and groaning on Sunday, especially after the Aaron Hicks home run. Jerry made sure to play that beautiful piece of audio right off the bat. CC Sabathia took one on the chin on Sunday, but is so proud of the way that the Yankees have battled through injuries this year. Jerry wrapped up the Yankee news with A-Rod moving up to Trenton and having no idea about this supposed plea bargain with MLB.

The Mets could have easily have packed it in this season, but they come to the ballpark ready to give maximum effort every time that they take the field. This is what Dillon Gee conveyed after the game on Sunday. Jordany Valdespin was sent packing to Vegas and said some unflattering things about Terry Collins, which he later apologized for, on the way out.

Jerry’s update came to an abrupt halt when Craig told a quick story about Boomer’s base running blunder in the Celebrity Softball Game at Citi Field. After everyone had a chuckle at the Boom’s expense, Jerry wrapped up his update with the bizarre story of Baron Davis claiming he was abducted aliens.

The Yankees tremendous setup man stopped by the set at FanFest for a few minutes. Even though it was an unsuccessful attempt, Robertson had so much fun campaigning for the final All-Star spot.

The great Mariano Rivera is calling it a career at the end of the season. That will certainly leave a Grand Canyon sized hole at the back end of the the Yankee bullpen. Robertson admitted that it has crossed his mind about filling that void, but acknowledges that Mo can never be replaced.

Some of the other topics discussed in this interview were manscaping, benching and how an Alabama kid adjusted to living in New York.

Jeff Garlin, a dear friend of the program, stopped by the set to talk about his new movie. It’s called “Dealing With Idiots,” and the movie was mainly improvised and dives into the world of Little League parents and their effect on the kids. The NYC premier is this Wednesday.

Craig threw the invite to Jeff for the Boomer and Carton fantasy football league. He was pleased to get the invite, but unfortunately can’t make the draft because he’s filming a new television show. However, Jeff had someone in mind that could stand in for him. The young lady’s name was not mentioned, but Booms and Craig got to see a few photos of the playboy playmate and needless to say, she is more than welcome on draft day.

B&C Morning Show: A Big Night At Citi Field And Craig Sounds Off On The Knicks

The guys kicked off their final show from the FanFest by breaking down a wonderful night at Citi Field. The Home Run Derby displayed some of the best youngsters in baseball. One thing is for certain — New York knows how to do it the right way!

Last night’s festivities were just an appetizer for tonight’s main course, as Mets young phenom Matt Harvey takes the hill against some of the best that the American League has to offer. Hard not to get jacked up over that!

All the good feelings this morning turned sour quickly, as Craig was literally beside himself over his beloved Knicks. The franchise that he loves the most re-signed J.R. Smith, but we now find out that he will have surgery on his knee, costing him 3-4 months. The team itself called Smith’s knee injury chronic and deteriorating. Craig used words like pathetic, embarrassing, cowardly and minor league to describe the team’s decision to run and hide and not face the noise with this surgery.

B&C Morning Show: Harvey Gets The Nod, Cockroach And World Peace

Yoenis Cespedes edged Bryce Harper in the Home Run Derby last night. The Oakland youngster certainly planted himself on the national map with his outstanding performance at Citi Field.

Last night’s festivities certainly provided plenty of enjoyment for people, but Matt Harvey taking the hill tonight means so much for a Mets fan base that has not had much to cheer about lately. Harvey’s first All-Star Game appearance ironically coincides with Mariano Rivera’s final All-Star appearance.

Terry Collins spoke to the media yesterday and, among other things, addressed the Jordany Valdespin situation. The Mets’ manager said he thought Valdy called him a “cockroach.” This sparked “The” Eddie Scozzare to put on a drop clinic for all of our amusement.

Metta World Peace signed with the Knicks yesterday and his first interview did not disappoint. This audio has to be heard to be believed … classic.

B&C Morning Show: Marconi Award Finalists Announced

Craig promised the audience a big announcement this morning, and boy did he not disappoint! Craig, fresh off winning the “Pulse of the People” Award, was gleaming as he delivered the news that he and the Booms are among the five finalists for the prestigious Marconi Award.

The winner will be announced on September 19 in Orlando, and Craig already wants to take the show down there so he can accept the award. Boomer quickly advises him to “not touch the money” and to “respect the process,” two things he did not do yesterday on the golf course.

Will he ever learn?

One thing is for certain. It will be hard living with Craig if he wins the “Pulse of the People” and a Marconi in the same year. He already said he will strip down and jump into Boomer’s arms if that happens.

The former Yankees great and Mets manager stops by the set at FanFest. Mr. Randolph reflects five years later on being fired from the Mets and how the franchise went about doing it. He also let the audience know what he has been up to these days and how he keeps busy.

There were plenty of serious moments during the interview, certainly some sports talk, but then again this is the Boomer and Carton show, so you better be prepared to let your hair down. B&C Morning Show: The Return Of A-Rod

All eyes in the sports world were on Chicago on Monday as Alex Rodriguez made his season debut for the Yanks, the same day that MLB suspended him through the 2014 season. Boomer basically said that there needs to be a tent over this three-ring circus, while Craig proclaimed that MLB really screwed the pooch on this. They had a chance to suspend A-Rod for life and they did not do it!

To make matters worse, MLB sent out a press release instead of holding a press conference. Both Boomer and Craig acknowledged that Bud Selig handled this poorly. They also agreed that the younger generation does not really care that these players use PEDs.

All in all, the traveling circus known as A-Rod should provide plenty of entertainment both off and on (amazingly enough) the field for the rest of the season.

B&C Morning Show: The A-Rod Circus

Jerry’s update was dominated, as you would imagine, by A-Rod’s suspension and his subsequent season debut for the New York Yankees. A-Rod made it very clear on Monday that he believes the focus of everyone should be on the positive stories in baseball.

Yeah, anything to get the attention off of him.

As far as on the field, Andy Pettitte and the Yanks got roughed up by the White Sox. The Mets had the night off but are expected to call up Wilmer Flores to likely play third base for the injured David Wright.

And what would a day be without a juicy story from Jets camp? Mark Sanchez, once again, was booed by fans during practice. Rex Ryan wants Gang Green’s faithful to take it easier on Sanchez, but that’s unlikely to happen, which is why Boomer continues to beat the drum for the Jets to get rid of the former first-round pick.

Quite possibly the most put-together punter in the entire league stopped by the set. No stranger to the WFAN airwaves, Steve Weatherford discussed being a physical specimen and what his reaction was to someone accusing him of using deer-antler spray.

As far as on the field, Weatherford called Tom Coughlin a master motivator and says that the team has extra motivation to be the first team ever to play in a Super Bowl in its home stadium. The team also realizes that the window is only going to be open for so long. Eli Manning is in his prime, so the time to win is now.

Despite his incredible dedication to his body and diet, Weatherford makes an exception at the end of the interview by enjoying some pop rocks with Craig.

B&C Morning Show: Justin Tuck And Victor Cruz

Two of the leaders of the Giants, Justin Tuck and Victor Cruz, stopped by together this morning. Tuck does not want to focus on his recent struggles. He would rather concentrate on giving this year’s team all he can this season. Cruz, still smiling after getting paid, knows that he has to cut down on the drops this year.

We found out some interesting things about both of these guys. Tuck is a fan of Duck Dynasty, but has no idea who Honey Boo Boo is. Tuck also does not go to the movies very often and really has no clue what a good one is — he liked Jack Reacher! Cruz, despite growing up in New Jersey, was not a fan of The Sopranos. However, he has gotten his hands on the entire series and is now fully immersed in it.

B&C Morning Show: Eli Manning And Jerry Reese

The Giants QB spent a few minutes with Boomer and Craig, breaking down the Giants’ offense. Eli, like many others with the Giants, is excited about the progress that second-year receiver Rueben Randle is making. The G-Men’s backfield will have a new look to it this year with David Wilson handling most of the touches. The young speedster is not the typical bruising back that the Giants are known for, but he is very talented, according to Manning. Manning knows that the team has to find creative ways to get him the rock.

Even though the focus of today’s remote was on the Giants, Johnny “Football” Manziel has been in the news a lot lately and one of those instances was when he allegedly showed up hungover for the Mannings’ football camp. Eli understands what he is going through. He can relate to being in college and wanting to have fun. The Giants’ QB is definitely grateful that Twitter was not around back when he was 20.

The GM of the Giants spent a few minutes discussing the team’s personnel and also expanding on the comments that he made earlier in training camp about this team not living up to expectations. Jerry Reese knows that this team is going to have to be more consistent on both sides of the ball if the team plans on playing in this year’s Super Bowl, which he already has a countdown for.

The Giants’ head coach showed up for his interview five minutes early, or as he would put it, on time. Coach acknowledges that training camp is different from how it used to be, but it’s just a sign of the times. There is so much on the line and injuries play a factor in this.

It’s been pretty highly publicized that coach Coughlin was very moved by this year’s Hall of Fame ceremony, particularly the Bill Parcells Hall of Fame speech. He really loved the stuff about the locker room coming together for one common goal. The NFL is a team game and that’s why it’s so great to see all these guys from different walks of life bonding together.

As we all know, Craig does an impression of coach Coughlin. It’s certainly debatable whether or not he is a fan of being mimicked, though his children get a huge kick out of it. Well, I’m sure that they were grinning from ear to ear when Craig impersonated their dad changing the diapers of his kids.

Boomer & Carton: Tommy Gets His Marching Orders, Heads To A-Rod’s Hearing

Alex Rodriguez’s appeal hearing began on Monday and an A-Rod ‘supporter’ is claiming an MLB security guard spilled coffee on him while he was busy ‘supporting.’

Make of that what you will.

Well in light of the development, Craig got to wondering what in the world is going on down there at the MLB offices on Park Avenue, so he decided to send Tommy Lugauer over there to investigate.

Before Tommy left, Boomer and Craig invited him in to the Allstate Studio to give him his marching orders and provide some direction…

Craig was all kinds of pumped up this morning after the Nets’ huge victory in Toronto. Brooklyn now moves on to play the Heat, and Craig thinks all of NY should united in rooting against LeBron James & Co.

Boomer did not share in his partner’s enthusiasm for this basketball series. As we know, the Booms’ beloved Blueshirts are locked in a tight battle with the Penguins. And that’s all the big guy wanted to talk about.

The guys agreed to disagree on which series has more juice. What do you think?

Jerry’s first update of the morning had plenty of funny audio. Paul Pierce’s blocked shot in the closing seconds helped propel the Nets into the next round. Chris Carrino’s (the radio voice of the Nets) call on that play definitely hit home for Al Dukes.

The Rays beat the Yanks yesterday, in large part because of an inside-the-park home run by Wil Myers. The guys dissected John Sterling’s call to hear how he described it. And what’s going on with Sabathia? Craig says CC’s days as an ace are over.

The Rangers got blanked by the Penguins, but managed to split the first two games in Pittsburgh. It was a rough weekend for the Mets, but they did manage to not get swept in Colorado by winning Sunday’s affair.

Nets general manager Billy King joined Boomer and Craig this morning to chat about the Nets’ huge first round victory over the Raptors. Billy talked about what guys like Marcus Thornton and Paul Pierce mean to this team.

He also discussed how his team matches up with the Heat, the play of Deron Williams, and coach Jason Kidd rolling with the hot hand instead of playing the name-brand guys.

Billy finished the interview with a little golf. With Boomer’s charity golf outing today, King was really curious to see who the better golfer was of the B&C pairing.

First we got to hear the fruits of Tommy “Can You Hear Me” Lugauer’s labor in a brand new segment called “Molly on the Street.”

Like the title indicates, during this entertaining bit Tommy – affectionately known as Molly – hit the streets of New York City to find out how much New Yorkers know about the Blueshirts.

Tommy took today’s intern, Keith – who looks a lot like Jim Rome (visual proof included) – along with him for the learning experience.  Little did Keith know that his learning experience would spill onto the air, as Craig invited him into the Allstate Studio to say hello and quickly put him to the test.

When the segment concluded, Keith had $20 … and very specific instructions.

Craig spearheaded a lighthearted prank on Jerry Recco in the 6 a.m. hour, wherein he led him to believe that a parking boot had been placed on his car.

Jerry was eventually let in on the secret but not before he asked Tommy ‘Can You Hear Me‘ Lugauer (pictured holding a parking boot) if the story was true and Tommy — who suddenly found himself in the unenviable position of damned if ya do, damned if ya don’t looked him in the eye and proceeded to try to keep the ruse going.

Jerry then went to Al Dukes and was told the truth, so now he is not thrilled with poor Tommy. Apparently Jerry does not appreciate being lied to, and who could really blame him…

B&C Morning Show: Revis Not Happy With Jets

After a nice long weekend, the boys are back, refreshed, and ready to go. Even the great Eddie Scozzare returned from his week-long hiatus. February tends to be a slow sports month in New York City, but one local team always seems to make a splash in the cold winter month, and yesterday was no exception.

Darrelle Revis is not happy that the Jets did not call him first before the trade rumors made its way to the public forum. Craig has no sympathy for the Jets best player. Woody has shelled out a boat load of money to keep his star CB healthy. The NFL is a business and Darrelle has gotten too emotional, according to Boomer. Gang Green needs to do what’s best for them and explore all options, says the former MVP.

Cragie proclaimed this morning that Revis will NEVER play another snap for the New York Jets! The Pro Bowl corner wants Mario Williams money and the team simply does not have the dough to accommodate him. With that being said, one half of the B&C show thinks the Jets new GM John Idzik should deal the disgruntled star. Craig feels this team is not ready to win now and would be best served stocking up some picks for a player whose value is high.

The Mets have fallen on some hard times lately, but their manager Terry Collins thinks 2013 could be their year. He even went as far as to call the Amazin’s “Elite.” It worked for Eli, but can it work for the boys from Queens? Only time will tell. One thing is for certain, the Mets skipper has already provided this radio program with some chalkboard material.

The guys wrap up the open with Amar’e Stoudemire’s controversial tweet over All-Star weekend.

B&C Morning Show: Hola, Geraldo

In college, Jerry Recco went by Senor Jerry, so from now on Mr. Rello will go by that moniker. You know what that means? Bright and early at 6:30 a.m., Jerry said Holaaaaaaaaaaa la la la.

Darrelle Revis sounded off in a one-on-one interview. The star CB is very upset the team did not contact their best player. He also thinks Woody does not want to pay him.

Down in Port St. Lucie, Terry Collins delivered a fiery speech to his players, and David Wright thinks it’s just what the doctor ordered. Yea baby!

In Yankee-land, Joe Girardi told the media he believes Robinson Cano is ready to shoulder the load as a leader of the Bombers. The aforementioned Yankee second baseman is in a contract year, but he just wants to help the team win another championship. He will let his agent deal with all the legal-beagal stuff.

Senor Jerry concludes his update with the sad news of the passing of Lakers owner Jerry Buss. Kobe Bryant reflects on what Mr. Buss meant to him.

B&C Morning Show: Try The McFish

It’s almost that time of year, when we all become Irish for a day… or for a month in some people’s cases.

Everyone’s favorite fast food chain, McDonalds, has their signature Shamrock Shake… a green milkshake. Craig’s son, Sonny, went to the dentist the other day and Cragie wanted to treat him to a nice delicious shake. Unfortunately for the Cartons, McDonalds does not serve this delicious treat all day long. What is up with that?

Craig did not sit there and sulk. Luckily he can think on his feet, so he jumped in his boogie automobile and headed over to Friendly’s for a Fribble… come get some! Good parenting by Craig Carton.

On the subject of the McDonald’s menu, Al Dukes brought up the McFish, which is basically a chicken nugget… without the chicken. Craig has never ever heard of this item. However, he does recall the filet of fish. Did you know Boomer’s friend invented it? Well, now you do!

B&C Morning Show: Amar’e’s Tweet; Boomer & Carton Bonding

Amar’e Stoudemire made headlines this weekend when he tweeted that Chris Dorner’s manifesto is a “must read.”

Craig says STAT has plenty of explaining to do. Boomer thinks this is all a result of Twitter and then goes over the dangers of social media.

Cragie says don’t blame the site! Amar’e is a man and he put it out there. It’s now time for him to take responsibility and own up to what he said… or typed. We should hear from him Wednesday night when the team travels to Indiana.

Boomer is certainly not a spring chicken, but he is hardly at the end of his run. Craigie spent the weekend thinking about his partner’s demise, which of course did not sit well with the Blonde Bomber. Boomer is not ready to trade the headphones for the fishing pole just yet. He finds sitting on a boat to be very tedious and boring.

Craig, as usual, pays no mind to his partner’s requests and invites Boomer on a nice fishing trip. He thinks a good bonding experience is necessary. Boomer wants no part of it, especially when Craig says they have to eat the heart of a tuna.

B&C Morning Show: Danica’s Pole; Where’s Sanchez?

Mark Sanchez has been very quiet this offseason.

Nobody has really heard from the Jets QB, including Craig Carton. Craig is worried because he has not answered any of his call or texts. As a good producer should do, Al Dukes investigated the situation. Mr. Hughes came to the conclusion that Mark has changed his cell phone and has not given the new digits to the B&C radio program.

NASCAR normally does not get a ton of publicity on this show. To be frank, NASCAR is not a big topic on the WFAN airwaves. However, the guys made an exeption today because the hottest person in racing won the pole position at Daytona. I am talking about Ms. Go Daddy herself, Danica Patrick. So when the race actually takes place, Danica will be sitting on the pole.

See what I just did there?

B&C Morning Show: What About The Dogs?

Most adults, not including Al Dukes of course, have a family and some type of pet. A hamster, goldfish, cat or pug all seem like reasonable, safe choices.

What about a pit bull, though? Aggressive by nature, that according to our resident dog expert Eddie Scozzare.

That leads us to this bizarre story out of MLB and the Toronto Blue Jays. Newly acquired pitcher Mark Buehrle could not bring his pit bulls to his new home city, because they are banned in Ontario. T

hat means the long-time hurler was left with the choice of leaving his dogs at home or his whole family… he of course chose his FAMILY. A decision that completely baffles Craig Carton as he debates with Boomer about the safety of children and pit bulls. And Al thinks of a good idea for a movie involving the Buehrles. What about the dogs?

B&C Morning Show: A Big Day In New York Sports

It’s very rare in life that you get a day where everything seems to work in your favor. Yesterday, if you are a fan of NY sports, was that day.

The Knicks have strung together 12 straight wins, but Sunday’s victory may have been their most impressive to date. Boomer said the Knicks are back to playing the ball they played earlier this season. His partner says the win over the Thunder cements the Knickerbockers as a legit title contender. In fact, Craig believes his beloved Knicks are in the back of the Heat’s minds.

Boomer cautions him to slow his role, stating that Melo and the gang will have to go through a tough few opponents before they face the defending champs.

It’s been a rocky start for the Bombers this year, which is not surprising considering how many key players are out nursing injuries. It’s hard to say a game in April is a must-win, but certainly the Yankees did not want to get swept right out of the Motor City. Though you had to figure that was very possible with Justin Verlander toeing the rubber, easily one of the best pitchers in the sport. However the Yanks, as they often do, rose to the occasion.

The Mets looked like they were about to drop two out of three to the Marlins. That was, however, until Marlon Byrd stepped to the plate and singled in the winning run. Byrd is truly the word.

B&C Morning Show: Byrd Is The Word

The Knicks went into a building that they never won in before, against a team that is near impossible to beat, with two of the best young players in the sport. That’s why their 125-120 victory on Sunday was so impressive. Coach Mike Woodson was very happy with how his team batted to the very end and Tyson Chandler said the team played fundamental hoops.

The NBA HOF announcement is today, and former Knick Bernard King is expected to get in, as first reported in a tweet by Craig Carton.

Marlon Byrd’s walk-off single gave the Mets the series victory over the Miami Marlins. Everyone say it with me now, the Byrd is the word!

CC Sabathia followed a rough Opening Day start with a nice performance against Verlander and the Tigers. Jason Nix provided the offense with a home run. John Sterling was up to his usual antics, although this call had everyone scratching their heads.

Craig and Boomer took to the ice this weekend for a good cause. Craig was in net and dominated between the pipes, or so he said.
